To be honest I haven't gone there to see the fortress. What brought me there was the lighthouse cottages. You can stay there overnight. There is no running water and the toilet is outside, but apart from that everything is there: kitchen with fridge and cooker, electricity, heating. It is not a luxury hotel, but for me it's one of... We drove 30 minutes from Nyköping out to this old Swedish Fort, which was last actively manned, against possible Russian invasion/incursion, during the Cold War, but is now preserved as a tourist attraction. And very attractive it was too, if you like coastal scenery, woodland walks and old militaria, since Femöre has lots of each. We spent around 4 hours... More

Rock beside the ocean. Oxelösund is an old coast factory town. Today factories more or less dead. The tourist harbour is well visited by international boat travellers. Most of people who lives in the city goes to naighbour city: Nyköping.

Very interesting and it seems long time ago though it is modern time! Beautiful walk to the " fort", and you can check out sunny rocks for sunbathing or where to pick blueberries late summer. Dont forget to bring a sweather because it is a bit cold down there.
