Brixham Heritage Museum was delighted to be awarded a Trip Advisor...

Brixham Heritage Museum was delighted to be awarded a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for 2015, the third year running, thank you all for making this possible! We were also joint winners of the Family Friendly Museum Award in 2013,despite nationwide competition. We offer a choice of activities which are suitable for a variety of ages, and we hold many 'special days' both within and outside of our Museum. There are opportunities to become amateur archaeologists, no matter how young, and many other "hands-on" experiences are found on both floor levels inside the building. For all visitors there are a variety of displays ranging from the prehistoric to the 1950s, with particular emphasis on the maritime industry of the area. We also offer Family History Research for all areas, and hold regular talks and social activities. For further information please view our website.

Nice little place

Very small museum, a bit of a mishmash of exhibits but some interesting things. Free to go inside you just make a donation. Playroom upstairs for children

Brixham is a reasonably small village...so it was surprising to find such a great Museum, well worth a visit as the stories, displays and friendly staff really bring our history to life. Put in on the 'to do' list, you'll be glad you did.

Bless the volunteers, they made our visit so lovely. This is a free museum about Brixham; ancient cave systems, sailmaking, fishing, railways, social history, etc. We had a nice brief but informative chat with each guide and they showed us everything. The exhibits are over two floors. It was a very pleasant visit. Entrance is free, but a voluntary donation... More

Free entry to a well set out museum with very helpful staff who passed on so much information as they were all local to Brixham was a good reason to leave a donation at the end of my enjoyable visit in the hope that they will still be there on my next visit .

Spent a few hours in Museum last week. Like a tardis with lots of different sections and much bigger than it looks outside. The old police cells were very spooky and so sad to see the the Station which had been very picturesque had been knocked down to make way for a housing estate.Very enjoyable and informative few hours.
