Used to take my children here when they were little and this time went with them and their children. All had a wonderful time jumping around on the rocks and wading through the water. So much fun had by all we went back again the following day. Little Inn at the end of the lane was closed but still wandered... More

A fantastic place to wander over the moorland next to the river. The kids loved jumping on the stepping stones and dropping pooh sticks in the river. Lots of lovely old trees and moorland.

We've been visitng Dartmeet since 1999 when our kids were small. Great place for splashing about, playing Pooh-sticks, prodding the river bed, climbing rocks and enjoying fresh air. Easy, free parking plus loos and an ice cream shop as well as the cream tea and lunch restaurant at the far end of the car park. The kids have grown but... More

Can get busy on the summer, but if you are on Dartmoor it's worth a visit. Beautiful spot and is out of season it is very peaceful. A walker's paradise!

Such a lovely area to walk. I was amazed how different it was to the US. It was lovely and quiet while we were there but I could imagine it could get very busy in summer. So so pretty

Incredibly popular with tourists, the area around Dartmeet fills with cars and families during warmer months. Unless you get there early you'll find it virtually impossible to park. With toilets and cafes dotted about selling ice cream, food and other refreshments the area really pulls in the crowds. It's very scenic with the brown brackish moorland water forming the wide,... I can remember all my childhood memories on the moors and it was nice to show my wife where I had been.. and it was nice to do it again, apart from the fact over forty years had gone by. I was still able to jump over a few stones at my age 18 wishful thinking. Dartmeet had not changed... More

One of my favourite places when roaming around Dartmoor . Tucked away at the bottom of a steep valley , this spot of natural beauty maintains its tranquillity and natural magic with just the sound of the water rushing over the rocks . You can relax on the side of the river , or for the more adventurous, climb onto... More
