Lots of wonderful scenery and wonderful views as you do this walk - easy place to start is National Trust Parke - where if you're an NT member it's free and the home farm cafe is present on site. About 6 miles round trip. River is beautiful and the woods by Higher Knowle are also special.

Our hike through Dartmoor in January was beautiful and stark. Snow-covered hills dotted with sheep, trees flocked heavily with thick green moss hanging over a stream, Wide open windy skies above endless moor and hills. Took a drive through Dartmoor national park following TOMTOM to a pretty river area. The area is scenic and some great photo opportunitys, pretty bridges, strems, pic nic areas. Lots of wild sheep, different cows and shorses roam freely so you'll be sure to see some beautiful big and small (the small horses are a pretty sight) beasts. Perfect for... More
