Good place to stop with the kids. There were a lot wading and playing in the water (current, slippery - saw one fall and come up laughing) but not too deep and lots of families with parents around

Definitely worth a visit if you're journeying around Dartmoor and are in the area. If there's any sun - any at all - there are likely to be other people here. I happened to visit on both a lovely sunny day and a cloudier day,...More

We are very big fans of Dartmoor and often chuck a picnic in the car and go exploring on a sunny weekend. We love the desolation and largely untouched nature of this ancient landscape. SatNav doesn't work terribly well and there are some very narrow...More

There's lots of nice places to sit by the river in Dartmoor and this is another one. Luckily it was a nice sunny day so we sat by the river and had an ice cream, which was much needed after a lovely walk around near...More

Visited here over Easter. The original bridge was built to enable horses to cross the river. The Bridge is a great feat of work. Opposite the Bridge is a post office which offers gifts and great ice cream.

Pretty little hamlet. Thought the walk along the river would be more along the river and not tramping through a soggy path but nonetheless still a nice little place.

Fortunate to have sunshine but should have been more careful on the path along the river, after rain it’s very soggy! A beautiful place, and the store opposite does tea.

Easy access. Very nice even on misty days! Cars could be a little more considerate as some like to drive 100 mph over the road bridge! Started here twice (as of publishing this review) for ten tors training and a great basecamp.

Postbridge is a good place to stop while driving through Dartmoor. The bridges are very scenic. You can buy Cream Tea at the post office.

Impressive old stone bridge, absolutely work a stop! Or even better: park the car at the nearby visitor centre, and take a hike in the area for a couple of hours, e.g. to the Bellever forest or to one of the many "tors" to enjoy...More

Apparently there has been some form of bridge in place for aeons. I agree with the above comment.... probably 13th or 14th century for the stones there now. And some times the stones were washed away by bad storms and... More
