An easy, gentle 2.3 mile stroll from Exmouth along the eastern bank of the Exe Estuary, whose mudflats, sandbanks and marshes are of international importance for their wildlife, especially the tens of thousands of resident and migratory waterbirds. Look out for avocets, curlews and lapwings, even seals and otters, and buzzards wheeling overhead. Take time to explore Lympstone before catching the train back to Exmouth.

This is a joint cycle and walk pathway it is busy, there are a lot of cyclists, but dont let it put you off. Leaving Exmouth you walk parallel with a railway line between you and the river Exe, you have opens views of the river and the glorious hills beyond. Take a camera or binoculars , there are many... Brilliant walk along the River Exe Estuary on a lovely sunny Spring day. Well maintained path, mainly on the flat and useful seats along the way. Plenty of wildlife to see in the Estuary and surrounding countryside. So good to get away from the hustle and bustle too, really peaceful. Lympstone is an interesting village and can recommend the Ship... More

Walked back from Lympstone to Exmouth lots of different birds to see. Well used by bike riders and people running the walk. Did not take us long and with the lovely weather it was well worth the time it took .

I am a disabled retired man and regularly drive my mobility scooter up to Topsham and back from Exmouth, the views of the various birds and scenery are most beautiful and a joy to see, especially in the spring when the leaves on the tees are blooming and the birds building their various nests, this is a most beautiful area,... Quiet walk of about 3 miles along an off road path. Mainly flat with great views of the estuary. They are just building a link path to the national trust property A LaRonde. The best pubs are to be found at the Lympstone end of the walk. The walk forms a small part of the SW Coast path so it... More

This is a lovely walk , starting at Exmouth railway station and following the edge of the estuary. There is a small donkey sanctuary along the way , and as you progress further you get really good views of Starcross and the Powderham Castle Estate & tower across the river . It's mostly a flat even walk, but has a... More

Beautiful surroundings and nice easy walking as pretty level all the way. Main cycle route as well which is great for all the family however you may have to keep your wits about you as some cyclist seem to think there on the tour of Britain !!! Lol

On a sunny day this walk is stunning, alongside the estuary. An easy walk for those with pushchairs or wheelchairs, with only one section not on the foot/cycle path. Choice of pubs or tea rooms in Lympstone and option of a return walk, train or bus back to Exmouth.
