My nephew really wanted the junior zookeeper experience for the day, and he had had this place recommended by a friends mum. I was a bit apprehensive when as a thank-you he invited me as his companion. Wasn't sure how such a small place could compete against the big zoos, however, within minutes of being introduced to the team, and... More

Do cross the Ness to Shaldon Wildlife Trust. What a wonderful place to visit. So many animals and birds i had not seen before and what a situation! Woodland and near to a beach. Take time to look AND read. This zoo is a must visit if you are in the area and packs a conservation punch. Busy enclosures, lots of... More

We've been several times to this perfectly proportioned zoo with children of all ages. The staff are good and the exhibits interesting and easily accessible to all ages. It's a shame it's not bigger but they have a lot packed into such a small place. If your down in Teignmouth or Shaldon it's worth a visit.

It was a surprise visit for my birthday to have the meercat experience. Having been here a couple of years ago to feed the ringtails I knew I was not going to be disappointed. The staff are so friendly and really know their animals and visa versa. We ended up looking around quite a bit before our 2.30 start but... More

My 8 year old daughter spent a happy and busy day feeding and learning all about animals from stick insects and tree monitor lizards to lemurs and monkeys. Our keeper was extremely knowledgeable and made my daughter, and me, feel really welcome. She was lucky enough to see some babies up close whilst feeding their mothers. Her most memorable part... Visited today Thurs 6th April The previous year was really good,Alas 2017 it was terrible. A handful of monkeys,a few exotic birds and that's it. Seems they have all disappeared, it was lovely and sunny too, maybe the monkeys caught the boat from shaldon across to teignmouth for the day,who knows £13.40 down the drain, but at least it pays for... Fantastic. Great fun. Highly recommend it. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and really helpful. The animals all looked healthy and content in their enclosures, and clearly well cared for.

We visited Shaldon zoo on 1st April 2017 as my wife purchased the meerkat & lemur experience for my 55th birthday. If you like animals you are going to love this actually feeding them. This is not a petting session so don't think loads of you are going to sit with the animal s and handle them. But trust me... More

We spent a delightful 90 minutes here wandering around the small but well thought out zoo. There are a lot of different types of monkeys here that get a much delight looking at you as well as you observing them. The tortoises were great to watch. There are a few small cats here also. The tropical house has lot of... More
