A beautiful property, with stunning grounds and a fantastic play area for children of any age where their imagination can just flow. Will definitely be returning, staff we're incredibly friendly here to which was great, although cafe staff seemed stressed

Knightshays is well worth a visit if one is in the Tiverton area. A beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds including trails through woods, farms, and a spectacular kitchen garden. Although popular and crowded on weekends, it provides a quiet respite.

We called in and spent the afternoon here. We have been many times before. There was a Christmas market on today which was an extra treat and we were able to pick up some presents for family. We also had a lovey cuppa and a slice of delicious chocolate cake in the tearoom. Keep up the good work National Trust... More

Great location, close to the town of Tiverton but in beautiful countryside. It's not the largest estate and house, but has lovely grounds and house is interesting. Places to walk the dogs in the estate - although watch out for livestock grazing! If you do have a dog, then you can't go inside the cafe, and have to sit outside... More

Someone has worked very hard dressing the house for Hallowe'en, and wonderful as that is, I'm afraid it completely detracts from the house itself. You really can't see a lot of the furniture sadly, although you can look up and see the stunning ceilings. A pity we visited then, as I'm sure I would have been giving a five star... More

This is a great looking neo-gothic house designed by William Burges for the Heathcoat-Amery family. It is a stunning building and the details in the stonework both inside and out are interesting. However, there is a lack of original furnishing and the house feels as if it hasn't been lived in. The staff are fantastically knowledgeable but there is room... More

The house was built by Sir John Heathcoat Amory, the grandson of John Heathcoat, creator of the mechanised bobbin lace making machine and owner of a lace factory in Tiverton and who moved there in 1816 with his family, after their lace making business in Loughborough was destroyed by Luddites and the lace-making factory and chimney can be seen from... Handy for Tiverton, the house is OK but nothing special. The garden, however, is well worth a visit with an extensive walk through trees and flowering shrubs.
