Easy to find. Reasonable charge to get in. Small children find it absolutely fascinating with multiple rides on trains to gnome village. Wonderful model railways in several old passenger coaches where the little ones can press buttons and watch the model trains in very detailed settings. Good restaurant next door. The Devon Railway Centre is a fairly small attraction aimed mostly at families with younger children. We've been several times with our 4 and 2 year old and they are both absolutely in love with the place, so much so that we've now bought a season ticket. For the entrance fee - £27.90 for a family of four in 2016... More

Thank you for your review and I am so pleased to read that you have visited us several times with your young boys! You are right that we aim activities at young children but also feel it's important to offer other facilities for our older visitors. Our recently opened museum coach gives visitors a taste of the past and our... More

We've visited the Devon railway centre as a family for a number of years, the only way I can describe the place is charming. It's quirky and unlike any other attraction,You don't have to love trains to love this place! It was an easy choice for my daughters birthday party this year- everyone enjoyed the play equipment, from the play... More

This lovely venue makes the best of a small amount of space, with two little railways, sometimes with steam trains. A picnic area half way around the train rides makes for a nice stop with a climbing frame, and river views. A gnome wood, model railway displays, plenty of soft play, sand and ball pool, a model village with buttons... More

We have a lovely day here with our friends and two young boys. The staff are lovely and friendly and I think it offers good value. There are a few things you can pay extra for, but it is nice to have the option with little ones. Nice indoor play. Shame no proper coffee!! Other than that would recommend!

Thank you fro your review and I am so pleased that you and your friends had such a nice time. We do offer a choice of coffees and our filter coffee is one of the best on the market so I am surprised that you didn't enjoy it but I appreciate it may not be to everyone's taste. More

We visited late September. On entering the centre we found that we were the only ones there. It did seem a bit of a disappointment. Our first stop was to the train rides, we found that it would be up and running in 20 minutes so we had a look at the model trains. We were greeted at the entrance... More

Thank you for your review and I am delighted that you had such a great time. Our model railways are very popular and many guests such as yourself recognise that time and attention to detail that we place in them. Many of the layouts have won awards in the past. The only reason I did not award a 5* is the overpriced cafe. Excellent collection of model railways/model villages - my son would have spent all day pressing the buttons to see the trains going around. Outdoor and indoor play areas spotless and well maintained. Train rides were fun

Thank you for your review and I am pleased that you had a good time with us. We visited with my parents, two year old and newborn and it was a really great day out. It was term time so quite quiet but there was lots to keep my son (and dad!) occupied. The play areas were clean and appealed to a range of ages and the train related activities were engaging and wide ranging. It was... More

Thank you for our recent review and it was great to read that you'd all had a great time here. You're right to say there are plenty of activities to keep all the family happy and I'm really pleased that both your son and your dad were kept busy! I hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Devon. More
