If you would like to know how the castle would have looked before destruction by Cromwell in 1646, a visit to the model village shows Corfe Castle and the village in 1/20th scale. Set in beautiful Purbeck surroundings, also with giant games, enchanted fairy garden, working stocks and pillories and croquet. There is on site the Courtyard Tea Room for good quality reasonably priced snacks with a wide range of gluten free options.

This was a really nice thing to do on our last day in Dorset. We spent about an hour looking around the model village. There was a game for children too - to find all the little ducks hidden around the houses.

Really lovely place, little model village; sweet little hidden paths, a fairy garden. There was croquet set out and other garden games, areas to sit and picnic .

Have been to Corfe Castle before but never noticed this gem of a place. Not overpriced. Dog friendly. Lots of things to see not just the miniature houses. Giant games, croquet and hidden areas for children & adults to explore. We had a fantastic time.

We have fond memories of visiting the model village & thoroughly recommend it, especially in the sunshine. In the rain you should get to the café quickly because it is equally as wonderful. We enjoyed brunch on Wednesday and were pleasantly greeted by friendly staff...More

Killed quite a bit of time in this weird little place. Lots of different garden games to play and the models and characters are all pretty amusing. Models weren't quite as good as bourton on the water in Gloucestershire, but a brilliant piece of work...More

Sounds a bit twee - but it's magical. Croquet, Jenga etc. on the lawn, a fairy garden, the model village itself (including what the castle would have looked like), a tearoom, an Indian teepee, a wild walk, stocks and a pillory to imprison the children......More

After a lovely cream tea at the model village café we visited the gardens and model village. It is a delightful setting in the shadow of the ruins of Corfe Castle itself. There was croquet on the lawn, and other games, with a small museum...More
