Lovely coffee and cakes, proper tea and table service from friendly and efficient local staff. You can sit outside or inside, comfy sofas and plenty of space to browse the books and the artefacts on display. A real gem.

Wandered in for a bookmark for my daughter and stayed for a couple of hours! There is old machinery throughout the shop. Ended up buying a few books which added weight to my already heavy backpack!

It has been a long time since I stepped into a bookshop with such a huge selection available. A lovely time spent browsing through titles new and old and the best bit was no one asking every two minutes if they can help. I had...More

We Stopped by for a mid afternoon chicken in a rustic seeded roll. Lovely wee spot and we were very lucky with the weather; a scorchio 24. Service was delightful and very friendly. Defo recommended!

Lovely bookshop and my wife wished she could have stayed there all day! They had two books by my favourite author, Martin Walker, hard to find any in most bookshops

We stopped in here again after climbing some nearby hills, for much needed tea and home made cakes.Just a delightful place to sit and 'be.' The bookshop has been voted one of the world's Top 75 (of which there is a book too).I could wander...More

A fab place to visit to browse the wide range of books. the Cafe has the most delicious soups and cakes. The coffee is wonderful, but the herbal teas are often the hot drink of choice. Very unusual recipies are often used in some of...More

I enjoyed the place when it was still a mill. But now you can take a break, browse in the bookshop and relax with tea/coffee and excellent cake.

Hi Graham Thanks for flagging this up (it is something that annoys me too) - I will bring it to the attention of the cafe team. Regards Kevin
