Great distillery. Highly recommend the tour our guide was Russ, very knowledgeable and made it fun. You get a taster at the end which was a very nice introduction to several of the current whiskeys. Also had dinner there which was very good! Ardbeg and Isley as a whole are well worth the journey!

We went for Decades tasting. It started with a tour around the distillery that was accompanied by funny and/or educative stories regarding every part of it. After that we came to small room and tasted four excellent samples. The distillery itself is in my opinion the best looking on Islay a the restaurant is simply amazing, although crowded.

Ardbeg is the final distillery along the road out of Port Ellen. It's worth the time to walk the grounds, eat at the cafe, do a tour and get a tasting flight. You can walk/bike along the newly redone patch between the distilleries and this is the perfect ending to that ride with wonderful food and drink. The welcome center... More

We stayed at sea view cottage, what a gorgeous place to stay. The island is gorgeous and this cottage suits the surroundings. Upscale and eclectic, wonderful linens and beautifully appointed. The tour was great,a wonderful history lesson and the whiskey was of course amazing. Once in a lifetime!

We had a great tour of the distillery by Ross and a wonderful lunch. This distillery is a must-see. Stay for lunch. You won't be disappointed.

We did the trifecta of Laphroaig, Langavulin, and Ardbeg (easy 20-minute walk between each two). We saved Ardbeg for last as we correctly assumed it was the grandest of the three, and also because it's the only one with a restaurant. After a walk around the premises and an amazing meal at the Old Kiln Café, we signed up for... More

We had a great experience at the Ardbeg Distillery. Our tour guide was very friendly and informative. The tour comes with one tasting of one of Ardbeg's standard bottles. Lunch at the Old Kiln Café was surprisingly good. The food was fresh and well prepared. The vanilla-honey cheesecake with whisky sauce was a very decadent addition I wouldn't miss if... More

This is by far my favorite distillery. The tour guides are fantastic and well versed on the history of the distillery as well as the island. From experience there was second to none! It is well known for having the very best café for any distillery on Islay or on the mainland of Scotland. Ross is an amazing tour guide... More

I didn't join any tour, but looking for a place to have lunch, I tried their café. It turned out to be a good choice. The soup (chowder) was rich and tasty. Had a Corryvreckan as a desert as they also serve their whiskies.
