Welcome to Loch Katrine - one of Scotland's special places.

Just as special...

Welcome to Loch Katrine - one of Scotland's special places.

Just as special as the magnificent scenery is the famous steamship "Sir Walter Scott" which itself has been a landmark in The Trossachs for over a hundred years. Your visit is not complete without a cruise on this wonderful ship, or on "Lady of the Lake", the perfect way to experience the beauty of Loch Katrine. Perhaps you'll just want to relax with a coffee or a meal in the Brenachoile Cafe Bar, shop for a souvenir and take a stroll by the shore, or bring the family for a cycle trip?

Didn't get the best weather on this part of our tour, so weren't blown away by our stop. Enjoyed some of the scenery on the drive around here. Hope the weather is kind for your visit.

Intended having a snack but changed to just a coffee as not impressed by surroundings. Badly needs a tidy up inside and out plus some redecoration and new furniture. The surroundings probably don't do much for staff morale but a few smiles would have improved the experience!

Very beautiful journey. The pick and drop point from Edinburgh on the princes street is easy to find and very convenient. Our guide + driver, Nick was very knowledgable with good sense of humour. We had enough time at each destination to explore the area. The journey of our small group was very comfortable. Nick was very kind to recommend... More

Stopped off here whilst on the Trossochs tour for a chance to stretch our legs , stunning loch in beautiful scenery. Lovely boat trips available along the loch . The loch has a great path around it perfect for a walk for all abilities , and there are bikes available for hire too. Cafe and gift shop too

One of my favourite places in Scotland, absolutely beautiful. Whatever the weather the loch always appears to sparkle. Really beautiful place

Lovely scenery and a nice walk. Expensive shop for tourists as expected, nice tea room and public facilities. I noticed many people didn't pay for parking but I felt it was important to do our bit to keep the existing facilities going as it is such a lovely peaceful place to spend a sunny day. Went on the boat trip... More

It is absolutely beautiful here. The stunning views took my breath away. Unfortunately, the steam boat wasn't running but the walk was great. Also, I'd imagine it was good for kids too as there's some information boards about mythical creatures and such. Definitely my favourite part of my trip to Scotland.

I was going from Inverness to Glasgow. But suddenly I was hit by the lightning I remembered my room in Glasgow was booked for tomorrow. So I didn't have any place for dinner and sleeping. I looked around . I was driving along big beautiful lake, it was Loch Lamond . I turned to the lake, found hostel, had dinner... More

Cycled round the loch in March 2017. The place was deserted, but I imagine the opposite is true in peak season. Definately cycle as the 10 mile or so one way may be a bit of a trek. Nice tarmac road the whole way, although you can't circuit the loch as the road ends part way round. Cycle hire available,... More

Great boat trip, even on the Lady of the Lake (the Steamship Sir Walter Scott doesn't run in the winter). It was cold for some people on the top deck, but the friendly staff provided blankets, commentary, chat, and you could buy their famous, and extraordinarily presented, hot chocolate with Bailey's for extra warmth. If you are on the top... More
