On the 9th of June we drove 50 miles to visit the gardens. We found many “private” and “no admittance” signs but no gardens. A sign on the main road warned that the tea rooms were closed. I enquired locally and was told that no-one...More

After a tour of the fine house the garden did not disappoint. The green houses (3) are in different condition. Hope you can get into the old stables we did.

We were privileged as a group of over 50 to be welcomed to Dunskey House which, generally I think, offers exclusive use, weddings and corporate events as well as self-catering cottages overseen and managed by the delightful couple who inherited it. So the house is...More

Very poor signage apart from saying what is private won't be coming back. Everything closed at Easter. ?

Went here on a fairly wet midsummer day. Nonetheless the gardens were interesting, and there are extensive walks beyond the boundaries of the gardens themselves into Portpatrick through some lovely wooded areas. The tea rooms are very nice with a very nicely painted 360 degree...More

I have visited Dunsky Garden many times. Sometimes with my family and sometimes solo (for an hour's solitary reflection). In late winter groves of snowdrops lighten the forest floor, in Spring the woods are full of daffodils, and in May bluebells, with their soft downy...More

This place sounds great on its website so I was really looking forward to visiting. We arrived and the external roadside notice said tearoom closed - but that was fine as we didn't need refreshments - sign said the gardens were open so we drove...More

The gardens were just lovely with so many wonderful plants and trees with amazing colours everywhere - loved the pond with the waterlillies. Loads of pheasants everywhere which took off around you every few minutes - great fun. We took the dog on the magic...More

This was easily our worst garden visit in the area. Dogs are allowed, but not in the walled garden or the maze, which only left the walks if you go with your canine pal. The longest of these was listed as a 30 minute walk...More
