When Cleveland gets the Rock and Roll Museum what do you do when you loss the chance to be the Rock and Roll Museum? Well you make a place called Memphis Rock n Soul Museum. There is no soul here. We bought a Memphis music pass from viator for $109 pp that includes Graceland, sun, stax and the Rock n soul. We were surprised at how well done and cool this place was. A perfect little topping on our last morning after the excitement of Beale, Graceland, sun, stax...

Each "section" of the museum has a jukebox that represents the music at that time and you can select songs with the headphone device. I also liked that you had the option of selecting additional information on... More

This is a good intro to the roots of rock and soul in country and gospel. It's probably best to see this before checking out other music museums, such as Sun and Stax, as it will give you better context.

Family recommended that we visit this museum, whic h we did because it startyed to rain. We were so glad that we made this decision. Displays led us to understand how musicians broke the color barrier long before society as a whole came around. Displays were wonderful. The opportunity to listen to the different types of music was amazing. Not... More

We wrapped up celebrating my mom's birthday at Rock n Soul, and what an ending it was! I really had no idea the place was so big. You watch a 12 minute intro, then self guide via head set through the museum. There was plenty to be learned and even more good music to dance around to! We really enjoyed... More

Rock n Soul was developed by the Smithsonian. It is a first class, wander through Memphis Music history. Again if your trip to Memphis is for some music and history and making it enjoyable, this is a must see.
