Sun Studio - The place where an 18 year old Elvis Presley recorded his first song. It’s well-known in the music industry as "The Birthplace of Rock 'N' Roll" and the most famous recording studio in the world. Opened by rock pioneer Sam Phillips in 1950, this national Historic Landmark is where superstar musicians like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and countless others started their recording careers. Today, Sun Studio still serves as a recording studio in the evenings while hosting public tours during the daytime hours.

Well worth the time to get insight from our wonderful guide. So well preserved and revered. I am so glad the studio I see still operational and sought after!

What else needs be said. Yes very very small and not surprisingly simple considering how long ago it was in a very old part of Memphis. It still takes your breath away.

Just loved our tour, it was so informative and well presented, no need for classy effects when you have that kind of history. Getting to go in the studio where it all happened is a moving moment. Lost for words!

The coffee shop is on the ground floor and the actual studio can be accessed thru a a door from the outside. The office and memorabilia are on an upper floor which probably is not wheelchair accessible.
