Not as bad as Bourbon Street in New Orleans (which is awful) but it is just a tourist trap with loud music which is generally awful (for real jazz go to Clarksville, MS) and weak drinks. Spend 5 minutes walking down the street (just to...More

Didn't find anything out of the ordinary, a little disappointing. Typical tourist area, lots of souvenir shops, bars and restaurants along a short two block area on Beale Street. Lots of better things to see in Memphis.
Live music everywhere & talent, talent, talent! Incredible bands. There are restaurants and gift shops too. So much to see and do.
Beatle street is an amazing place with lots of information and places to visit. Plenty restaurants and bars all devoted to the blues.

Beale Street is an eclectic area with lots of shops, bars, restaurants, and history. I have not been in this area in the evening, but during the day it is safe and fun!
Visited Brake street 14 years ago and this time was disappointed in its lack of vibrancy. Memphis seems very fun down in general and Brake st no exception, although it was a week night.
