Here for the Memphis in May World Class BBQ Competition, and the park is the PERFECT location!!! Right on the water front, great breeze (MOST appreciated in MAY heat) and very well kept. Great park named in honor of a man who single handedly saved MANY lives after a boat on the Mississippi sank! A TRUE American Hero!

Muddy in May for the Memphis in May music festival. Music from different stages compete with each other a bit. Drinks and food are good.

On a nice day, there are splendid views across the river, nice paths and serenity abounds. But we came because I had read about the statue in memorial to Tom Lee (park named after him - he had rescued a number of people when a steamboat capsized near this spot) - and in a recent flooding episode of the Mississippi... Tom Lee Park just like Beale Street has gone down in the number of years. All the shootings and fights make it hard for us to enjoy time with our families in the summer. But without all that its a wonderful nice relaxing place. You can go there to exercise or site see

I loved it the only thing I would say is they should put the more experienced or more thrill seeking people in the front. the no passing rule on that open area was not as fun as it should have been because of the slower driving couple in front of us.. all in all the ride was an excellent experience... I love this park. It's right in the middle of town, but you don't feel like it. There's plenty of paved and unpaved walking trails and places to explore. The playground is great too. I bring my daughter here all the time.

Visited this park.. There were no restrooms. While the ambience was serene, because of the bridge and the M river bank, you could say that the place has 'potential'. It was mostly barren but since it ran right by the river, one can get easily distracted by the river and forget about the rest of the space... lack of restrooms... More

Big park on the banks of the Mississippi River. Great place to picnic and watch the river. Bring a patio umbrella for shade as there are few trees. Great views of downtown and the 2 Miss. River bridges.
