The trolley is by far the easiest way to get around Memphis, even while the roadworks necessitate some minor rerouting. Each ride costs just $1 and a day ticket, giving unlimited travel until 0200 the next morning, is available for $3.50. Beware though, the machines...More

The real trolley was not running due to some weeks of track repair. However, bus service on the adjacent streets was inexpensive ($ 1.00 per ride) and came every ten minutes or so. People on the buses were friendly and the drivers extremely helpful to...More

For only $1.00 you can see a large portion of downtown Memphis. It is an easy way to travel to many of the downtown destinations. We loved it!

This is certainly the cheapest way of getting around Downtown Memphis at only a $1 each way, although I think they did a deal for hopping on and off for the day. They run every 15mins and was a good way of seeing the area.

We are staying at the Holiday-Inn, 160 Union Avenue. How close is the Trolley stop? Will the Trolley's be running on March 24-27? Are they like streetcars on the tracks or busses on wheels?

Not sure We stayed at the Comfort Inn and the trolley was right out the back door. The trolley should be pretty close by to your hotel. Pay once and ride all day. On the trolley you will get to Beale Street, the Gibson... More

Sadly, I discovered the demise of the trolley. Bus transports one through the downtown. It goes to a guitar factory & nearby is where a museum for Dr. M.L. Kiing, jr can be found.
