We were looking for another indoor entertainment venue and then we found this. The entrance is on Beale Street where it is possible to buy alcohol to drink in the street so we took the opportunity to sit outside on a park bench and enjoy the band. We were also able to chat with some of the locals who were... More

Great park to listen to music, always packed; not sure though how many people today understand the significance of the name. Different atmosphere at night.

Handy Park is all about the music and music you will hear on most weekends. Besides the organized music opportunities, you will also encounter the musicians that often drop by to just play for fun.

We really enjoyed the bands and the people-watching at Handy Park, which was across the street from our hotel. Nice, fun outdoor venue.

Mentioned this park in another review but didn't remember the name until now and see that it is it's own rated attraction! We are lucky to go to Memphis on a regular basis. And we go to Handy Park all the time! Free music as musicians play on a small stage. Dance it you want to, or sit and listen.... More

Stopped in here for a drink, or two, or three and listened to some excellent Blues music. Just intended to stay for a bit but had such a great time stayed for the rest of the evening. Friendly staff, great music and average prices. Recommended.

After walking down Beale St. and observing all the bars & honky-tonks, it was refreshing to relax in the park and also look at the nice statue of the Blues Singer.

After walking down Beale Street and seeing all the sights around Memphis, this is a "right place to be." One can sit and listen to the music or the people and bring memories to mind of what happened on this famous street years ago and what is happening now. If one is with family, just enjoy their company and listen... More

My husband and I spent several evenings at this little park sampling some very good local blues bands. There is minimal seating, but no one seemed to mind. The bands we saw were very good, related well to the audience and made the experience fun. They asked for tips, but weren't pushy about it. A perfect way to spend a... More

It has potential - there are some seats, and some grass, but it's pretty much an oasis in the city, so it can be hot, hot, hot (and not just the music). Not much shade. Performers are hit or miss - you'll either love or hate them. While there was a lot of police presence outside the park, there didn't... More
