Climbed and I mean climbed Cadair Idris with my husband from Minfordd . We had stunning weather . This walk is not for the faint hearted. We are avid walkers and go up our local mountains regularly but even we suffered on the decent and have muscle aches in our calves the following day. . You are climbing steeply from... More

It is a hard climb but has Truly beautiful scenery on this mountain. There are toilets available at the base and a cafe .

Cader Idris has breath taking views from the summit and it is worth all the effort. The path is very clear and well used. Not pram friendly. Quaint, worth a visit.

Last year we visited and went up the Minnford Path - beautiful path (although a harder route up as much steeper!) - we loved the first section through the wooded valley with the stream tumbling down the valley. It comes about by a tarn before ascending up the side to the Cadair Idris. The Pony Path approaches from the opposite... More

A really lovely walk for the whole family. We climbed on an overcast day parking at the bottom car park and walking up the pony track. It is a great walk and not too steep. We climbed with a five year old, a three year old and a baby (in a carrier) all who enjoyed it and managed it with... More

Great vies and a nice challenge - we did the Pony Path - 5 hours up and down with a 15 minute lunch stop in the shelter at the summit.

A beautiful mountain to walk up. Not to difficult, wonderful views and scenery, and parking and toilets at the bottom.

Great walk up the pony trail and back down the Fox's path involving some scrambling over boulder and scree. Amazing views all round

Fantastic walk which led to 360 views of Wales. The descent was tough on the knees but then you can't be on top of the world without going down again!

Whilst there are a number of well known classic routes up this mountain from both the south and north the mountain also justifies further exploration along the ridges both to the east and west of the summit. The ridge walk to the west is particularly delightful
