This place is a joy. The house, location and spectacular gardens are wonderful. Congratulations to the hard working gardeners- your diligence is appreciated. As a local I visit regularly. Now that the castle is closed for winter, you are able to enter and leave a voluntary donation if you wish. I visited towards the end of a Saturday last week... More

The grounds are extensive and range from woodland paths to a walled garden. The castle tour guide was interesting and informative. The food in the café was superb.

Dog and kids loved walking around the grounds, the boardwalk was particularly enjoyed. It's a very pretty place and lots of things to see and the gardens go on and on. We couldn't go in the castle itself as we had the dog with us. Kids loved the gardens and the various things to do: maze, adventure playground, etc.

We had fab day out that was spoiled by lack of signage or staff to inform that entry to Castle had to be booked. The map given on entry doesn't mention the need to book tour. The staff at ticket office didn't tell us about booking, although they knew we had paid for entry to castle. No apology from any... More

After 4 previous holidays in Pembrokeshire we discovered Picton, although a little off the beaten track it is worth the journey especially if you have time to enjoy the house and gardens. We visited for the gardens which in October could have been disapointing - they were not. There are many unusual plants here and clearly there are plants that... More
