Barry Island is much improved after excellent work on the prom and the funfair taking place recently. Plenty of room to park with coaches coming from far and wide to visit on weekends. Often called Barrybados or Barrystan. Train station 50 yards away.

Soon to leave Cardiff and, as a long-time Gavin and Stacey fan, had to make this trip. On an overcast June day, it was not showing at its best but was easy to park close to the beach and spot the places from the series....More

First time visiting Barry Island and I was certainly not disappointed. The fairground was good value for money and plenty of rides available for small children. Cost £5.80 for 8 tokens which got my son on 4 rides. Few amusement arcades about including the one...More

I've never used the beach huts, but I would assume the use of BBQs is a bad idea as many passerby and kids! Why not ask the people you are hiring from? HFB
