Taking a ferry directly from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo, located in the suburb of Mosman, is the first unexpected joy of visiting the animal park. Once there, the leisurely trails and opportunity to see some of Australia's distinct wildlife become apparent, as does the striking view of the Harbour Bridge from the seating at the aerial bird show. Advance booking can give you the chance to see koalas up close, or stay overnight and 'camp' in the zoo.

This is probably one of my favorite places I have been to in Sydney!! We brought our tickets online and they were very well priced!! It started with a ferry ride across the beautiful Sydney Harbour on the Captain Cook ferry, which was great with awsum commentary from the crew!! Once you get to the zoo it is just a... More

We were looking forward to seeing native Australian animals and were very disappointed. Many of the exhibit's had nothing in them. There was a VERY dark inside exhibit that supposedly had a platypus in it, but you couldn't prove it by us! You had to pay extra to see the koala's. I do understand that there's an extra charge to... This is a must see when in Sydney, take the ferry from Darling Harbour , Circular Quay or the long way around you can bus it from the city. Once there take the cable car up to the top, well worth it. There is plenty of well laid out animal enclosures that for the most part allow unobstructed views. They... More

Wow has this zoo changed in the last couple of years. For the money you pay you would expect to see at least the big 5 but no tigers, no lions and no bears. There was one Koala that we could see. There is not enough to spend more than 3-4 hours there so for a family day out it... More

Visited Taronga today for a family event. Even though we paid our $46 entry fee each totaling almost $200 the zoo exhibits were closed. Almost every exhibit was closed for renovations or the animals were locked away breeding or looking after their young. Very poor that the entry fee remains the same when there is nothing to see. Been to... More

Rather disappointed after our thirty dollar plus entry ticket to find a limited number of animals to see. Yes the site and views are amazing but not what you come to see. The gorilla enclosure was a highlight and the super seal show. Probably have been spoilt living near the wonderful Melbourne Zoo.

Ok so they may not have big cats anymore, but they have just about everything else. And it's so big you can't even do it all in a day... such a great zoo!

12 of us went from 3 different generations and all had a good time Cafe there not expensive, entry fee is ok (zoo's are expensive to run) there are deals for families Great bird show and the staff are just great Really not sure about keeping wild animals in capacity but it looks like they are well looked after

Great half day out. Well maintained grounds but a lot of work being done resulting in a lot of areas inaccessible- this was disappointing.

We took the ferry to the zoo which was fun, then the gondola to the entrance which my young son LOVED. The zoo itself is huge with lots to offer. We've been to a lot of zoos and this one is one of the best.
