We enjoyed a picnic by the lake and letter in the day we walked across the dam which was very pleasant. Would recommend it as it is less busy than other attractions in Halls gap which were hectic over Easter.

We drove down to see Lake Bellfield, a short drive from Halls Gap. Boat ramp, picnic areas and you can walk across the dam wall. They have built a tower you can walk up one floor and history to dating the lake.

We went the first thing in the morning on a nice sunny Autumn day. The scenery on both sides; the mountain range and the lake gave us a feel of somewhere between Shangri-La and Jurassic aura to it. Loved that spot.

We stopped half way along the Lake where you can swim, and wandered through the trees enjoying the views (and free parking). Shame someone on the lake shore was baring music out as it ruined the peace a little. Without this noise it would be...More

We parked up & took a nice stroll along the dam wall - which led to some nice views of the lake & the surrounding mountains A very nice place to stop off and have some lunch just outside of Halls Gap.

My partner and I drove to Lake Bellfield and simply parked the car up and stared at the beautiful scenery. It was very peaceful and beautiful. Would also recommend walking across the Lake's pier/wall.

You will love this place it has everything from covered areas to toilets and sand beaches. It has a boat ramp( not great condition) Ppl can use electric motors but no petrol driven motors.

This is a 14km hike along a fire trail. Beautiful country but the hike takes about 5 hours indicating that there are quite a few steep challenging sections. But well worth the effort.
