Lake Mountain is Melbourne's closest and most affordable alpine resort, just a 120 kilometre drive from Melbourne. A year round destination for the entire family which during the winter months offers over 37 kilometres of cross-country ski trails, toboggan slopes and plenty of snow play areas. During spring and summer enjoy exhilarating flying fox rides, laser skirmish, challenging mountain bike trails and enchanting mountain walks. The Resort provides skiers with the opportunity of learning new skills in a relaxed, fun environment. Our ski school provides both the young and the young at heart with professional ski instruction. Enjoy an intimidation free experience! We offer ski clothing and equipment hire on site over the winter months so there is no reason to not enjoy the diverse experiences that the mountain offers. At the end of an active day enjoy majestic mountain views, local seasonal food and hot and cold beverages at the licensed Cafe or Bistro.

We all had hours of fun toboggoning, adults and children alike. This is the second time we have gone to Lake Mountain this month. The cafe was also convenient when we wanted to get out of the cold and thaw out.

For my overseas visitor this was a first and tobogganing really enjoyed particularly the steeper run and level of supervision present. A well organised snow gear hire was impressive perhaps pricey compared to that bottom of mountain where u stay, but then u carry everywhere....More

The resort was much smaller than we had imagined. Very little area where visitors (like us) who didn't want to ski. We did enjoy the snow, however. The cafe was reasonably priced and had a good variety of food

Excellent resort so close to Melb and a drive through beautiful mountain scenery. Check snow reports and cams first and weekdays are much less crowded than weekends. I first explored in 1965 but real skiing since 1979 and the trails can offer a sense of...More

Yes in August, when on a day visit from Marysville, enough snow cover at a large well posted and supervised gentle slope, plus a steeper slope further away. Getting to both walking was but can be slippery and no rail... More
