It's a cant miss ! Take the guided tour, the history is amazing - beautiful old home of the Grand Ole Opry, the country music community wouldn't let it be destroyed.

Took a group of girl scout girls to visit the Ryman they enjoyed but the part they enjoyed the most was getting to record a song in the studio.

Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, this is a must-see when you visit Music City. Take the tour, see a show. Learn about Country Music's bluegrass roots, soak in the history, sit a spell and feel the music.

The architecture and the history alone make it worth walking off the main drag and viewing this spectacular piece of history. No shows we're going on while we were in town, but even a stroll by the outside is worth the history lesson!

We aren't really country fans, but who hasn't heard of the Grand Ole Opry? We chose the self guided tour, which starts with a 12 minute video about the history of the building. Great video it really helped my kids understand where we were. You...More

Highly recommend this to anyone touring the Ryman!! The tour guide was very entertaining and shared lots of great stories and information that you won't get on a self guided tour.

Toured this with wife and daughter. Pay the extra $10 for the back stage guided tour so you can see the dressing rooms and walk across the historic stage. The movie on the self-guided portion of the tour is well done and very informative. There...More

We enjoyed the Ryman Auditorium, easily done in a less an hour. You watch a short movie first, room was chilly. Then you on your own to tour.

A Nashville institution not to be missed. The building itself is beautiful and the acoustics are fantastic! I've never seen a concert venue quite like it. And it you happen to be there around sundown, when the light is pouring thru the stained glass windows,...More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
I've a bad back, so bad I have handicap designation. I understand I may "purchase" a pillow for the pew, but can I just bring my own?

Gosh, I really don't know the answer to your question. May I suggest calling them directly to ask?
What is the approximate length of time (on average) does it take to visit the Ryman via self-guided tour?

30 minutes is sufficient
I just went to order backstage tour tickets online and saw that there is a $4.75 service charge for each $30 ticket, which pretty much negates the $5 coupon I got by going to a show at the Grand Ole Opry last night. If I buy my tickets on site at the Ryman Auditorium, do I avoid paying this 16% service charge?

When I had backstage tickets for an India.Arie show, all the perks were included in the package deal.
