Were in downtown Nashville on a Sunday. Lots of things were closed in the downtown area, but were pleasantly surprised to find that the library was open. The Civil Rights exhibit is on the 2nd floor of the library and is very interesting. It isn't a huge exhibit, but it is very powerful.

I LOVE THIS LIBRARY! If you are in the downtown area looking at the sites, be sure to stop and enjoy the interesting details in this library. Be sure to visit the Courtyard, Reading Room, and the Art Gallery. This would be worthy of an entry fee, but there is not one! Try to make it on a day when... More

The architecture alone is reason to visit this beautiful building in downtown Nashville. Art shows add to the ambience and the interior design is breathtaking.

I am fortunate enough to work around the corner from this beautiful city library. I go here often at lunch to check out books, or, sometimes just eat out in the courtyard. Large selections of books. I love it here!

Just happened to stumble upon the library while walking around downtown.....and ended up spending an hour there. Beautiful marble staircase, interesting exhibits...and be sure to check out the Civil Rights Room. Very educational.

I love the downtown library! The selection of books, MP3 playaways, lunch time speakers, exhibits, and activities are impressive. The staff is informative and very helpful is you cannot locate something physically or electronically. Impressive architecture with beautiful bronze doors. Go get your free library card today!

There are any number of reviews about this handsome library with its splendid holdings and activities. But is it the PC police at work once more which leaves out why I was totally uncomfortable there? There is an unfortunate homeless problem at the park that faces the library and it spills over into the building. You might want to sit down at... More

This is a beautiful building! The kids section is amazing. If you are visiting Nashville with young kids, this is a great pit stop to let them play. Black history section is very informative. Really nice that they provide free parking for 1 1/2 hours but be sure to not exceed that time or you pay for all.

We were downtown for the book festival and spent some time in the library. This is beautiful historic building on the middle of downtown. The library is very well setup and a pleasure to walk through. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is an attached public garage and there is a ticket validation station in the library that... More
