Established July 2012. Hank, Johnny, Chet, George, Tammy, Conway, Loretta, Dolly, Willie . . . There was a time when country music was on a first name basis with its fans. A time when the streets of downtown Nashville were alive with the sound of backroom guitar pulls, Midnight Jamborees and the Grand Ole Opry. Now you can recapture the magic of this golden era on the Walkin' Nashville Music City Legends Tour. Packed with history and behind-the-scenes anecdotes about your favorite country legends, this 90-minute walking tour tells the real story of how Nashville came to be called Music City. You'll see Printer's Alley, The Ryman Auditorium, Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, Ernest Tubb Record Shop and Hatch Show Print.Your friendly guide is Grammy-nominated journalist and musician, Bill DeMain. A longtime resident of Nashville, he will show you hidden corners of the city not found in any guidebook and tell you stories you won't hear on any other tour. From APRIL - OCTOBER, tours run Tuesday, Thursday-Saturday. From NOVEMBER - MARCH, tours run Friday & Saturday only (weekdays available by special arrangement for groups of 8 or more)Start Time: 10:30 AM (Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in)Tour Length: Approx. 2 Hours

Amidst all the party pedal trolleys and endless bachelorette parties is an absolute gem. Bill is not only super knowledgeable about the history of what makes Nashville truly the Music City (much moreso than just country), he is an amazing storyteller. He is gracious with his answers and sincere in wanting to share his love of music and Nashville. I... More

Trip Advisor never steers me wrong! As soon as I knew Nashville was a destination I hit up Trip Advisor for walking tours. I selected this tour because it wasn't a big corporation running a cookie cutter tour. Bill is passionate about music and Nashville and he wants to share it with his guests. He gave us great personal stories... More

Bill told lots of charming stories about Nashville personalities, both locally and nationally known. I would go again and again if I lived in Nashville-- I doubt he gives the same tour twice.

Bill does an excellent job with this tour. Covers a lot of famous people and places that would be overlooked by a novice to Nashville.

Worth your time and energy. Very nice to see what Old Nashville used to be like. Seems like the new Nashville is getting to be just like Vegas!! Sad...... but this walking tour was terrific!! Go for it!
