I was a bit apprehensive when my daughter suggested we go horseback riding while we were in Texas but the people at the Silver Spur ranch made it a truly enjoyable experience. I hadn't been horseback riding since I was around 18 years old (and that was quite a few years ago). The ranch had a variety of options for... More

We went for the day, and were able to take advantage of all of the activities. My four-year-old grandson was able to ride a horse in the arena, and the guys there were all great with him. He had a blast. Then four of us went on a trail ride and really enjoyed it. We ate lunch and dinner there... More

My mom and I visited Silver Spur Ranch on a mini road trip last month in March. It was a last minute booking so we only were able to stay one night, but it was the highlight our trip and we enjoyed the trail rides. It was a relaxed environment that was not over-scheduled with activities. The ranch was beautiful,... More

Silver Spur Ranch is the perfect way to spend some time with the roots. Even as a guest, you are treated as a part of the family. Huge pool to cool down during hot days, horseback rides suited for all ages and experiences along trails in the area. We will defenitely visit again on our next trip to Texas. Tips:... More

We visited the Silver Spur Ranch at Bandera "the Cowboy Capital," Texas during our 2015 family Christmas vacation for a one-hour-long "Day Visit" Horse Ride. Many of the ranches in the area give priority for horse rides to their overnight guests (included), and SSR was no exception - but they did allow us to book several days in advance (as... More

We visited as day visitors and were sad to go. One hour of horseback riding through beautiful scenery (horses were well trained, and cared for), hayride to see longhone cattle, brisket dinner, fire, smores. Who could ask for anything more! Bandera is about 1.5 hours from San Antonio. The town is called cowboy capital. It has cute shops in town... More

Relaxing break on a very friendly ranch, nice cowboy food, well behaved horses ridden on well trodden trails. Clean rooms, my preference in for those in the main ranch building. Manager of ranch even took 6 of us into the cattle town of Bandera for an excellent night with very friendly locals.

We went for a day ride with Dave Glocar, and had a great time. He took us all over the ranch on some pretty rugged terrain. The horses were great, the views were spectacular, and we stayed for lunch and enjoyed the pool. Very quiet peaceful place. This was my third trip to the Silver Spur, and they keep you... More

This was our 2nd visit to the ranch in April. 2014 was great and 2015 was great also. The people are friendly, the cabins are very nice and food is great! Enjoyed a two hour horseback ride into the neighboring State Park. Excellent place to visit!

I've been here for several events now and am always impressed with the hospitality of the owners and staff. Kay and Garry really love what they do and it shows. While this place isn't fancy, it truly has Texas charm and gracious stays in mind. Perfect for family reunions and kids, small business meetings wanting something more unusual, and for... More
