We decided to have a nontraditional Thanksgiving. It was a beautiful fall week in Texas. Inks lake state park has great hiking trails. The interpretive trail is about 3 miles long but very informative if you take along the little information book. The Devils backbone Trail is a great hike too. All of the campsites are well-maintained. Each one has... More

We made an afternoon stop here and spent about 3 or 4 hours in the park. Since this was our 1st time here and we love camping, we decided to drive through the camp area to get an idea of the set up. It looks like Inks Lake has a nice set up for camping; better than a lot of... More

This review is just about fishing. We spent four hours out on the lake with an ultra-annoying guide. He had good equipment and plenty of bait, and did a fair amount of work. But, we only caught fish for the one hour right before sunset. And then it was ridiculous. Drop the bait in and pull a fish out. Problem... More

We visited Inks Lake State Park in October 2016. It was a beautiful weekend weather-wise. This was not my favorite park as far as campsites were concerned. Our sites were ok, but we noticed many that were not scenic at all. They didn't have trees and didn't have a view of the lake. We had a number of family members... More

The thing I liked most about this experience was, it was actually quiet from 10PM - 6AM (aside from nature noises). We went tent camping during the week (Mon - Fri) with electrical and water hook up - so in a space that could accommodate a RV. Which means you have a huge space to camp. Spaces are generally well... We had a great time and fab weather. Kayaked (rentals) and hiked. Explored the area and enjoyed watching the water foul. Great sunsets too!

We spend one night here in a cabin. Did some hiking and explored the park. Very nice landscape with great scenery. Good diving water hole. The cabin is limited use with 2 sets of bunk beds. Includes a small table with 4 chairs, but nothing else. Need to bring linens and pillows. Has A/C and heat. We stayed in cabin... More

We take are RV's there and the sites are nice. The lake can get a bit crowded but it is beautiful. It is a great place to take the family.

We absolutely loved this park...especially our campsite 279! It was nice getting there early to pick your camping spot, however the only downfall is that previous occupants have until 2pm to clear out. Luckily, the guy who was at our spot left at 11:30, so we only had to wait an hr and a half. We took the time to... More
