The Dallas Art Museum has a small but nice collection of contemporary art. It was fun to tour the galleries and find a familiar artist at every turn, Gilliam, Rothko, Pollock, Rauschenberg. They have a large, wonderful Early Americas collection including feathered capes which I have never had the opportunity to see before. The DART will take you a few... More

Granted, our kids are all over 15 years old, so mature enough to appreciate at least some of the exhibits. We had a very nice day, and especially enjoyed the European art exhibit. The cafe at the atrium was also very good, we were glad to have someplace to grab a quick healthy bite.

The DMA is an unexpected gem in the heart of the Dallas Arts District. With the adjacent Klyde Warren Park as the backdrop, take in both permanent and visiting exhibitions. The exhibits are thoughtful and offer a broad variety of art. Plus, there's a walk up window for food, cafe, and fancier restaurant options. Best of all: admission is FREE... More

This is a world class museum with an unending supply of traveling exhibitions. It's also a great place to grab a bite or a glass of wine. And don't forget the Third Fridays when they have live music and stay open until midnight - a totally different museum vibe that is younger and more alive.

Well, the first floor is an eclectic collection of modern art/devices and temporary exhibits. I loved the activity room and the ideas for the little trips catered to the children (such as "where are the cats" in the paintings). Higher levels get better so do not get discouraged! Even if the collections seem to be scattered in time and place,... More

An outstanding collection, diverse, superb examples. Beautiful space to appreciate art. The staff are helpful, admission is free, relaxed about photography. We spend two hours and will come again. Innovative, friendly, learned. Exactly what a great museum should be.

We went recently to see the Egyptian Cats exhibit and also the Nature in Medieval Art one. Both were quite interesting, although not showy. We are members, so enjoy coming. Their permanent collection is quite varied and has a large collection of decorative furniture and such.

The DMA has a fantastic and global collection. What's on display is spread out through the large facility. Worth spending a good morning or afternoon wandering through art history. The hands-on family center is great and fun - staff are clearly dedicated and passionate. Would readily return.

I really enjoyed this. It was free to get in. It had accessible parking close by that was affordable. I paid to see a special exhibit that was worth every penny. Highly recommend visiting.
