This is an attraction not to be missed. The attention to detail here is amazing. Some highlights: the carpentry shop, the handicraft store, and the grist mill. The grounds are beautiful, well-kept and relaxing. Plan to take the time to talk with the staff and...More

Don't miss eating at this wonderful compound. Our tour had a pre-ordered lunch, but I would make a special trip there if I went back to Waco on my own. The farm families who run Homestead Heritage also have woodworking, weaving, cheese-making and other hand...More

I met 3 friends here for lunch. There was a large crowd and we did have to wait at least 30 minutes to be seated. I was very pleased with my combo lunch selection of a Reuben sandwich and sweet potato jalapeno soup. We also...More

We really enjoyed our visit. Everyone was so kind. The village showcases lost skills with many talented artisans. Lots of good shopping too. Mr. Caleb in the blacksmith shop even forged us a nail. There is very definitely are particular religious perspective here.

Loved all of the different craftsmen and shops. My favorite was the cheese shop. Don't miss it. Not all of the shops were demonstrating their craft when we went. Wish they had been. What we did see was very interesting.

Great activities for kids. Lovely scenery. Great food. On weekends and spring break they have projects for kids like making a small basket and carving a wooden spatula. There's shopping too. It's a must see!

Is this the same place that was the focus of allegations about child abuse and child sexual abuse by some of its members ("Texas Observer Exclusive: Waco religious group accused of child abuse, beatings and cover-ups?") If so, are the perpetrators gone? We need to know before we schedule a group trip there; some folks in our group brought this issue up and want to know before we make final plans.

No clue. I can't imagine that it would be the same group. What I witnessed of the adults and children, they were so respectful and loving. They have this aura of goodness and have such servant hearts. Keep in mind that there... More
