The stockyards are a blast. You can get up close to long horns, WOW! Great shopping for souvenirs and western wear or western items. A number of great places to eat.

The Stockyards' best attraction is the cattle drive that is done twice a day. There are lots of other touristy things to do there, including a cowboy hall of fame, many restaurants, horseback rides, etc.

Fun can be relaxing! A feel good day to get away from it all. There is a train that comes straight through the shops which takes you to Grapevine, if you want to plan a trip that way.

It's a little over a mile hike from the stockyards to old downtown Fort Worth. I enjoyed the steakhouse in old Fort Worth but they do have several places to eat there. There is a little mall there where we ate very good... More

By taxi or car, you're looking at about 15 minutes. Not really possible on foot.
