Beautiful historic town, wonderful way to spend several hours, or even a nice weekend. Certainly someplace I want to visit again.

We arrived a little late on a Sunday afternoon, so no shops opened. But all the pubs and restaurants were more than happy to welcome you and serve you the best Texan steak and so on. So, do spare some time in Fort Worth Stockyards...More

If you love the Wild West, this is the hotel for you. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were large and well maintained. On the downside the Breakfast room is very small. Within walking distance of all attractions. Great restaurants with all the great...More

So glad that we decided to drive to Fort Worth to see the stockyards! They have a cattle drive with Longhorns everyday at 11:30 and 4:00. Lots of touristy shops and fun restaurants along the cobblestoned main street. There is a somewhat corny shootout after...More

We knew nothing about the Fort Worth stockyards. It was truly fascinating. I felt like I was in the old west! Great restaurants, cool stores. Several nice places to stay and this is a must for kids...

Main event is the cattle drive daily at 11:30 and 4. There are also many nice shops and restaurants lining the main street. The museum is NOT open on Sunday. :(

We are going there this Tues - Thurs for the NBAA show and I was wondering if you can walk to the Stockyards from downtown and if so how long is the walk? Any recommendations on good eating places?

It's a little over a mile hike from the stockyards to old downtown Fort Worth. I enjoyed the steakhouse in old Fort Worth but they do have several places to eat there. There is a little mall there where we ate very good... More

By taxi or car, you're looking at about 15 minutes. Not really possible on foot.
Would love to get an opinion about the best hotel for the parade, as my husband cannot walk long distances.
