If I could copy paste my review from the Kimbell I would. Amon Carter has excellent exhibits. They recently underwent some renovations. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The guided tours are almost a necessity as the wealth of knowledge one will impart is immeasurable.

If you have limited time, ask to be directed to the Remington/Russell exhibit, but hopefully you can take the opportunity to explore more of this marvelous museum. Thanks to Mr. Amon Carter for making these treasures available to the public... WITH NO FEE. We combined this stop with a visit to the George W Bush Library and Museum for an... More

I haven't been through the entire museum in quite a while but did see the Japanese Samurai exhibit last summer and it was outstanding. It showed Samurai costumes and weaponry used over hundreds of years that were fascinating. The collection was outstanding and curated perfectly to maintain patron interest. It made for a very wonderful afternoon. The museum staff is... More

In the Cultural District for which many cities would drool over, one of the highlights is the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. The display is a stunning array of Art History in the United States, including a wonderful collection of Remington's and Russell's but not limited to just western art. Plan on an educational experience in taking time to... More

The Amon Carter Museum has lots of western art--if you like the western-themed paintings of Russell and the bronze castings of Remington, then you'll love the Carter's permanent collection. The Museum has probably two dozen galleries with quality visiting exhibitions that feature photography from the likes of Ansel Adams, Hopper and Weston. The Amon Carter is a gift to the... More

This is a beautiful museum with beautiful grounds as well. We spent several hours admiring the art as well as the art outside. The museum is located in a great part of Ft. Worth with other attractions as well so that you can make a whole day of it.

Loved this charming museum. I love art that showcases the beauty of the USA's west and southwest. Many of the art pieces remind me of another favorite museum of mine - the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, OK.

I used to live in DFW so have been to the Amon Carter before. There is construction going on now and I hit a class with an instructor that took up the whole room where the special exhibit was, so I was a smidgen disappointed. But having said that, my visit was still very enjoyable because this is still a... More
