Toured this wonderful museum on 3-9-18. Much larger than I anticipated and full of interesting items related to the Civil War, uniforms, hats, rifles, pistols, canons, swords, dioramas, pictures, as well as a superb dress collection covering the Civil War period up to the 1890’s....More

Thank you so much for your kind review. We think we are great--but always good to know other people see the quality that is here. So glad you enjoyed your visit and hope you will return the next time you are in the area.

This is one of the few museums in the country that is artifact rich and pasteboard light. I prefer museums that have real artifacts on display. this place has tons of them. it is well laid out and very well done. I highly recommend it

I have visited this museum twice in the past few years. Since I enjoy reading/visiting Civil War museums, this was definitely on my to see list when moving here. It is not overly priced....well worth the money that is charged. I liked the comparison figures...More

This stop turned out to be a highlight on a day trip between Ft Worth and Dallas. I never made Dallas as I spent most of the day at the Museum. The Museum is very laid back but in a very respectful and serene way....More

Thank you for spending the day with us--you will have to plan to come back and take that same journey with the Union soldiers on exhibit. It changes everything when you put a face and a name to the object.

The Texas Civil War museum on the west side of Fort Worth was a pleasant surprise. A really fine collection of artifacts, weapons, uniforms, and trinkets such as sewing kits and mess kits from both sides of the War Between The States. Most items are...More

Thank you for visiting the museum and your review. We do not embrace technology as mentioned--but we do embrace history. For our younger guests we have scavenger hunts, ABC finds, Word Searchers and Scrambles--with a nice treat given for a job well done. We hope...More

Glad you enjoyed your visit--hope you enjoyed all of the Union items as well. Our geographical history, of course, puts Texas in the Confederacy--and you know Texans--we like to think big. Hope you will come back the next time you are in town.

This museum was very interesting, though a tad on the small side. The only downside was it was a bit expensive for what you got.

I am so sorry as I did not see the question until now. Allow 2 hours if you have a general interest in the war. If you are really interested in the period allow 4.
