My husband and I spent about 1-2 hours here looking through the old pioneer houses and talking to volunteers in the houses. Interesting little self guided tour if you get tired of the hustle and bustle of Main Street.

I love it that you mentioned the escape of the hustle/bustle. Our whole museum celebrates a slower time when building social relationships and strengthening families was the order of the day. Thank you for your high marks and taking the time to review us.

Just finished the self-guided tour of the Pioneer Museum, we were very impressed with the entire facility. Our 11 year old grandson loved it. Perfect addition to our trip to Fredericksburg!

Thank you for coming and bringing your grandson. It's wonderful when we can be a part of grandparents' visits with their young ones. Appreciate your review very much.

Took our 12 year old daughter to this because it was on Main Street and we were so surprised at the historical buildings and items in over 10 buildings. Audio in each building. Fun way to learn history. Easily spent over an hour. Great value.

Thank you for bringing your daughter. We want to be a place that young people get a taste for what it took to build a great community. The best thing you could have said is that it's a "fun way to learn history." Thank you!

We found the octagonal museum building to be a real gem. My favorite part of the museum was the discussion on why the immigrant community set up shop here. At $0.37 per acre of land, the draw was clearly inescapable. Recommended

The octagonal museum (for those reading but haven't visited) is our Vereins Kirche, a second site for our museum story. Thank you for the review. We like "neat little stop".

A definite must see! We did it in less than an hour since we arrived a little after 4 and they close at 5. It would have been nicer if we didn't have to rush, but we did it!

Large property with several buildings that were built on site or moved there from the Pioneer days. Loaded with articfacts that tell the story of early German history in the area.

Small museum, but great look back into the history of the area. They brought in homes built hundred of years ago and are intact.

Thank you for visiting. Four of our 10 historic structures for viewing are in their original location from the mid to late 19th century. The other 6 were relocated here from other places in the county. We appreciate your taking the time to review us.

We were greeted warmly by Eileen as we walked through the door. She gave us information to get started on this tour. It is self-guided and not too long. The buildings are interesting and well maintained. An excellent value at $5 for adults. Recommend!

About how long does it take to go through the museum and see everything? We're trying to squeeze a visit in between lunch and a show at the Rockbox Theater and don't want to feel rushed. TIA!
