This is one of many wineries in and east of Fredericksburg, and one of the best. The tasting room is nicely laid out, the staff friendly, and the wine quite good. This was a nice surprise for someone who has been to California wine country. The Texas Hill Country wineries are definitely worth checking out.

Great stop as our first Texas winery! Nice property and loved the beautiful chickens clustered at the back patio door. I believe they were Wesummer breed. Bought 3 bottles of yummy wine.

I believe this winery is relatively new to the Texas Hill Country. The inside of the winery is quite stylish. Their wine tasting choices are less than most local wineries, but I found the wines I sampled well-developed and complex. Their wines tend to be more expensive than most of the wineries I have visited in the area. The winery... More

So enjoyed our time at Hilmy! We had a tasting for a group of 10 women and had a fabulous time. We were not rushed, loved the space and the wine! Sam walked us through the tasting. He was very knowledgable, energetic and fun to talk with. If you can go on an off season day it is so relaxing... More

We arrived at Hilmy Cellars on 12/30 right at opening time. We had a large group (10), so we received a more or less private tasting to the right of the bar. The wine was delicious and a lot of fun to sample. We tried six offerings (three white followed by three red) plus a bonus dessert wine. Between sipping,... More

Fun environment. Great staff. Nice dry wines reasonably priced in a beautiful setting. 6 wine tastings for $12 is appropriate although no glass included but tasting is credited for every two bottles of wine. Nice!!!

This was a beautiful place and was a little more upscale than the other places we went to. It had a very nice outdoor area with even a Great Pyrenees to pet! Love, love.

Great dry wines! In fact, we were advised before purchasing our tastings that their wines ran on the dry side which I appreciated as my husband and I dislike sweet wines. Charming tasting room, friendly and knowledgeable staff and two of the sweetest "guard dogs" (giant fluffy, white Great Pyrenees who slept by the front entrance the entire time we... More

Stopped her a while back. Great, friendly service. Nice sample of red and white wines. Bought a bottle of red and white. Nice tasting room decor. Good parking. Not a big winery, but nice.
