About
Wildseed Farms is located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, just seven miles east of Fredericksburg, Texas. Come by and see us seven days a week, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Bring the camera and capture the ultimate in wildflower photographs! We have 200 acres of wildflowers in various stages of development here on the farm. Springtime visitors will likely see Texas bluebonnets, red corn poppies, phlox, and a gorgeous array of other spring flowers. Summer visitors will enjoy cosmos, sunflowers, zinnias and other warm weather bloomers. In the fall, the fields are planted for the following year's color, but our Nursery is well stocked with a variety of choices for fall planting and colorful pumpkins adorn the grounds around The Shops at Wildseed Farms which are brimming with delightful gifts for home and garden. And don’t forget to browse our incredible selection of wildflower seeds as well as our seven regional mixes for anywhere in the U.S.

- LINDA SNewton, Massachusetts27 contributionsGreat late afternoon visit - flowers, wine tasting, gift shop.We visited March 14, 2023. Blue bonnets were blooming and they were gorgeous. We have lupines in New England but a different variety that withstands the cold winters. We enjoyed a late afternoon wine tasting. Staff knowledgeable and food was good. Gift shop very nice and we all purchased seeds to take home.Visited March 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 26 March 2023
- luv2gogogo229 contributionsA must do when in Fredericksburg - especially if the bluebonnets are bloomingLovely bluebonnets & poppies in bloom at our visit. Great for photos. We enjoyed getting seeds in the gift shop and eating at the Brewbonnet Cafe. The chicken salad sandwiches were great and we ate outside. Lots of paths to walk and see the flowers and take photos.Visited March 2023Written 30 March 2023
- LaurieB980Portland, Oregon656 contributionsVERY fun place to visit! Lots of things to see in the store and on the grounds outside!VERY fun place to visit even though it was pouring buckets of rain part of the time we were there! We got our prayed-for reprieve while out taking pictures of the grounds, then it started in again! The red poppies were gorgeous and the staff said that the weather had kept the blue bonnets from doing well this year, but since this visit was near the end of our trip seeing friends in Texas, we had already seen a LOT of blue bonnets, so we just enjoyed the store and the grounds around it! Well worth a visit!!Visited April 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 13 April 2023
- aatbenderDandridge, Tennessee493 contributionsNice selection of wine plus flowers, seeds, and plantsWe visited with my brother’s family and had a very nice time. Beautiful spot filled with flowers and plants. We each bought a glass of wine to sip as we walked around (with fun glasses you can keep). Nice selection of wine. We bought quite a few seed packets.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 April 2023
- Jenn.Hereford, Texas6 contributionsFun!This place has several different buildings. You can shop, buy plants, buy seeds, find local canned goods and grab a quick bite to eat. They had a wine tasting building we did not try. We did all the other stuff though and was pleasantly surprised.Visited July 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 1 August 2023
- Mary R7 contributionsBeautiful, Bountiful and PeacefulSo beautiful! Trails to walk through the fields with great photo ops and beautiful flowers. See an array of Texas wildflowers, take the tour bus for the vineyards, do some shopping and even buy supplies for your own garden. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. There are restrooms on site too. I recommend stopping and taking a stroll on the way into or out of Fredericksburg. I will definitely be back.Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 13 March 2024

Very neat experience with beautiful flowers. We were too early for full blooms but it was still a cool experience. Very knowledgeable staff when it came to buying seeds.

It was great, until the busses arrived. I bypassed the tasting room and there were too many people, for me. I'll go back on a week day and see if there's an actual plant nursery in there, somewhere.

Such a neat place! We enjoyed the bluebonnet blooming and walked through the flower trails. Although there wasn’t much blooming, it was quite and peaceful to walk around the area.
There is lots to shop for, dine, and drink. My wife and I enjoyed our time and walkthrough the entire place. This place is family and pet friendly.

As we were driving along, my wife suddenly says to “go here”. So I pull in to Wild Seed Farms. It was a nice stop with a very busy gift shop, wine tasting room, and a large area of bluebonnets in full bloom. I had no idea that there would be such a nice place along our route.

We visited Wild seed farms on the way to Fredericksburg. Definitely worth a visit for wildflower seeds, bits and pieces etc. They even have a vineyard since my last visit ten years ago. Great for kids.

Great place to buy seeds and plants. So many varieties, staff are so knowledgeable too. Nice gift shop too. They have a wine tasting area, but we did not do that.
We did have a wonderful chicken salad sandwich in their brewbonnet cafe. The dark wheat bread was very flavorfu,l and the sandwich was loaded with chicken salad. We tried one of their peach ice creams later and it was oh so delicious. Nice outdoor or indoor seating.
I would love to come back and ride their tram around the property when everything is in bloom.

We came here for my birthday weekend and it was magical. The wildflowers were in full bloom, butterflies were everywhere and the wine was AMAZING! Cole (Nicole) helped us try all kinds of wines until we found the ONE! We loved her friendly service and seeing the owners in the building enjoying their craft was a major bonus. We ended up getting a membership there!
They have lots of lawn decor and plants of all shapes and sizes and are very reasonably priced.
Can't wait for our next wine pick up!

Will be there at the end of November. I know it’s not spring/wildflower season but will there be fields of flowers to see? Is it worth visiting at this time of year? Thanks!

No fields of flowers but still an interesting stop. They have a very nice gift shop and you can buy seeds for your garden. Many seed varieties native to Texas. It won’t take long to make this pleasant stop.
We will be there in mid June. Will there be anything blooming at that time?

I bought Wildflower seeds from you for or cabin in Northern Wisconsin. I bought the " North Central Wildflower Mix " When should I plant the seeds? And should I just throw out the seeds or lightly cover them in soil.? Joseph Lippert

We recommend you broadcast the seeds, then just walk them in. We call it the Bluebonnet Stomp down here. You don't want the seeds to go more than twice the width of the seed into the ground. You should have been sent a planting guide along with your seeds that tells you the optimal time for planting in your zone.

We are going to be in the area and would like to visit you the middle of February. Are there any flowers in bloom and what are the temperatures in Fredricksburg that time of year? Thank you.

That's a little early for flowers. If we've had rain in the winter, you may see a few. The weather should be in the 60's, but you never know in Texas.
