That is a very good question. If you don't gamble you can just enjoy the beautiful sunset on the way out. If you go in the evening and if you are lucky enough to be out when there is a full moon like when we went, you can sit outside and enjoy some relaxation, beverages and a little food. However, if you are prone to sea sickness, make sure to take the Dramamine well before your trip.
We were told after we got on that it is recommended to take 2 tablets the day before we left and then two more before getting on the boat. They also sell tablets for .25 cents each. But once you are on the boat it may too late for that.
My husband and I took a couple a few hours before boarding and then two more while on board. Even though we did not get sick. We did feel a little drowsy and nauseous while out. It gets better once the boat turns around and heads back in.
Gambling can be a bit rough if you are at the craps table standing (hard to keep your balance). However I played about 40 minutes of black jack and felt that as long as I was focused on the cards and the dealer I didn't feel bad. But as soon as I stood up it was a little rough.
If you don't enjoy just sitting in the moonlight for a few hours, this might not be the thing for you. One the way out and one the way back, there is entertainment and some karaoke. We really enjoyed the entertainment.
Unfortunately, I do not have any experience to share regarding the daytime cruise.
I would go back with the caveat of taking my Dramamine a day ahead. Not sure if my DH is up for it just yet though. lol
