This Island gets a bad rap for its lack of beauty. I’m sitting on the beach which is spotlessly clean experiencing a cool breeze and a blue green surf. AND only 1 Hour from my Houston House.

We had a wonderfully relaxing afternoon on the beach here. FYI there is a minimal charge ($10 I believe) to enter. Dogs are welcome on the beach but the owners were responsible. Bring all your own supplies since amenities are minimal. Loved the natural beauty...More

A nice and clean beach. There are various entries to the beach. The whole town is beautifully made. We enjoyed our trip in sunny March weekend.

Could use a little TLC and more money from the state as this old park is a one of kind jewel for the state of Texas and I cant beleive how they could neglect it so.

This park needs to be expanded with more futures. There are only one day use area and no privacy between them. The location is very good with beautiful birds and plants.

We had a good week at Galveston State Park. It is certainly not the most scenic Texas State Parks but has it's own charm. The beach side camping is laid out in three sections down a straight road. Each section has beach access within a...More

This is a relatively small state park on Galveston Island. The rv camp sites along the Gulf are quite nice, as are the bath facilities.
