This is amazing AND FREE. Did twice. Once as a walk on, and once as we were departing the island for Louisiana (probably avoided a ton of Houston traffic and saved a bunch of time too). Dolphins were fun to watch for sure. Staff handled...More

Hope the hurricane hasn't made this attraction history... wonderful journey to and from Galveston Island to the Bolivar peninsula. Lines/wait can be long at rush hour and the weekends, usually stockup at Jack-in -the box with some tacos. Can stay in your car or get...More

We took this ferry twice. Had a fairly long wait going to Galveston on a Sunday afternoon but just a few minutes wait to leave town the following Saturday morning. Better than Houston traffic any way you look it!

People paid lots of money to watch captive dolphins do tricks but, by riding the ferry and watching out for passing ships, you can have an even better show . . . FOR FREE. Dolphins ride the bow-waves of big boats but it takes luck...More

I always enjoy riding the Ferry. Believe it or not you'll see a lot of Dolphins which is pretty cool.

If you are in the area don't miss this free ferry to Boliver. Beautiful scenery, sea gulls, pelicans, and if you have a sharp eye, Dolphins.

It's part of the Texas State Highway Department, and the Ferry is a tremendous way to see the bay of Houston, watch dolphins play, see the cruise ships coming or going, and enjoy some seagulls playing nearby. It's every kids' must do in the area....More

If you've never been on a ferry ride, this is a must do. It's free. You should keep an eye out for dolphin pods and you should look at the wake at the front of large incoming ships, here you will see playful porpoises jumping...More

On our trip across there was a blond headed chubby woman that had no patients for anyone. If you didn't do what she said she is going to blow up. yells and screams. Good thing they don't let her have a gun!

Not sure a folding chair would allow them to see much but there is a place to hold on and look out. That was my first trip on the ferry so I don't know much about it.

It's about twenty minutes each way, plus loading time. If you just want to take a ride, park and walk on the ferry, to save having to drive off and then get back into the line. All vehicles have to get off, and you go to the... More
