This was a nice area to kill some time. I really enjoyed eating at the outdoor marina area. There is also a high end restaurant upstairs if you prefer that instead of outside dining. It is right on the bay.

Until you visit Galveston, you have no idea how many fine old homes there are, most of them nicely renovated. And some really spectacular mansions. Get out of your car and walk around to appreciate the architecture.

We stumbled upon this section of town driving to a restaurant. The houses are really amazing. Some of them are pretty run down but others are in great shape. They really evoke an antebellum vibe.

We started at the Bishop Mansion. We went up and down the streets behind it. There were some historical homes . Some all done up some getting work done. It was a pleasure look at the past.

Have done some walking as I'm staying in the Historic East End. Been through Sacred Heart Church, Bishop's Palace, the Moody Mansion and seeing many beautifully restored older homes.
