This walk was simple and beautiful. The water was clear and worth the trip. Highly recommended for a light hike with a picnic lunch. So much fun!!!!

The river was full of ducks and the park that surrounds it is well maintained. Lots of playgrounds, picnic tables and grills. Nice clean bathrooms were a surprise. Great walking trail and lots of dogs on leashes; runners and walkers-everything from small families to fisherman down by the water falls. Very peaceful and plenty of parking. No thug life in... Except for some freeway noise, you feel like you are out in the country! Lovely small river. Good concrete path with milage signs, water, kids play area and restrooms.

I love running along the river here. There are multiple trails for running or biking, both crushed stone and paved. There are several playgrounds and picnic tables, lots of trees for shade or areas to set up hammocks. There are two sand volleyball courts, a skate park, a frisby course and multiple exercise stations around the 1.6 mile river trail.... More

The north and south branches of the San Gabriel River come together just to the northwest of downtown Georgetown. There is a wonderful cement trail that starts in San Gabriel park and meanders along the bank of this beautiful river. The trail has distance markers so if you are looking for a place to exercise as well as explore, you... More

I live in Georgetown and never visited the park that the San Gabriel Runs through. I did with friends the other day and it was a peaceful and wonderful visit. Recommend to anyone visiting the area.

I love the fact that the river runs through Georgetown and that there are trails for pretty much that entire length. You can walk along the river in San Gabriel Park or Rivery Park or several others, or walk between those parks along the trails.

There is a unique bond between man and a sylvan site accompanied by a flowing river. It beckons us to slow down, take in the scenery, and ultimately realize that the rush-rush madness in our lives is far less conducive to happiness and solace than a scene painted by God.

Pretty much something for anyone here. There is a restaurant overlooking the river, El Monumento Cafe, that is excellent. There are a few places with playgrounds for young ones. Blue hole park is OK for swimming. The trail along the lower river is paved and easy to walk or bike on. Further up river, the trail turns to dirt/rocks and... More

Gtown has some of my favorite parks of any Texas town I been to, and San Gabriel is definitely the main park. Lots of exercise equipment, playscapes, fields for sports, frisbee stuff, etc. The town usually does a real good job of keeping the park clean, safe, and up to date.
