You're underground. Balcones fault is neat, you can see the two plates. Fun for the entire family. Easy drive from Austin.

Good place for families with small children. The quickest and easiest tour is about an hour and one mile. Bring shoes if you have them as the cave has water on the floor, like most caves do. The bats are coolest, there are only a few we saw.

We went on the hidden spaces tour since we thought the grandsons would enjoy it more (ages 8-12). They got to hold their own flashlights which they liked. It was a very nice tour. Our shoes got muddy and one of the rooms was closed due to mud from recent rains but it was overall a good experience. I was... More

If you like to cool off this is a great place to visit. A huge cavern with many different types of tours you can be as safe or adventurous as you choose. Boasts such large rooms it goes under the freeway very impressive.

You have to try it! We spend 4 hours exploring different corridors not open to the general public. It was a great experience.

My wife and I were intrigued by the Inner Space Caverns that were advertised just off the US 35 freeway and also at the information centers, so we exited off the freeway and we were there immediately near the offramp. It doesn't look like much from the outside (small wooden store front with gift shop) but the caverns were wonderful.... More

Just like each and every cavern, Inner Space Cavern has a beauty all of its own. One thing that makes this cave slightly different than most is it's steep train descent and ascent. It has absolutely beautiful formations and walls and a very nice cavern climate. A must see cave for cave enthusiasts.

The cavern was discovered in the early 1960s by complete accident with a core drilling incident associated with the bridge over the Georgetown RR right of way. The cavern is still "active" and growing formations. The tour is visitor-friendly. You will see the geology of the cretaceous period and the fauna of the late pleistocene (including the most recent ice... More
