WE went to the caverns with our children and grandchildren. It is an interesting trip into the inner world. I will advise that if you cannot walk well it is not a trip for you. My husband only made about half of the walk and had to ride a cart out. Lesson learned we will check about the walking conditions... More

Fun adventure for the whole family. No matter the weather outside it feels about 80 degrees once inside the caverns. Walking required so be sure to wear your walking shoes. It is wet along some of the paths so make sure your pants are not dragging the ground or they will end up soaked like my son's were. If you... More

First. Wear a pair of junk shoes. You will get dirty. But so, so worth it. I like to see the caves and formations, and the simple tour is awesome. I need to come back and do the more in depth tour.

Went there yesterday morning -- had Rick as our tour guide and he was very good. I would recommend going there earlier in the day as there are less people. Our group ended up being just less than a dozen people and we weren't rushed. The history of the caverns beneath the interstate was very interesting.

You're underground. Balcones fault is neat, you can see the two plates. Fun for the entire family. Easy drive from Austin.

Good place for families with small children. The quickest and easiest tour is about an hour and one mile. Bring shoes if you have them as the cave has water on the floor, like most caves do. The bats are coolest, there are only a few we saw.

We went on the hidden spaces tour since we thought the grandsons would enjoy it more (ages 8-12). They got to hold their own flashlights which they liked. It was a very nice tour. Our shoes got muddy and one of the rooms was closed due to mud from recent rains but it was overall a good experience. I was... More

If you like to cool off this is a great place to visit. A huge cavern with many different types of tours you can be as safe or adventurous as you choose. Boasts such large rooms it goes under the freeway very impressive.

You have to try it! We spend 4 hours exploring different corridors not open to the general public. It was a great experience.
