"In the Texas Plains and Lakes region 69 miles outside of Dallas, the charming town of Granbury makes frequent appearances on "best small town" lists, and it's easy to see why. The town's historic square, lined by historic landmarks, makes for excellent shopping, and there are plenty of mom n' pop restaurants to choose from when it comes time to refuel. The beach at Lake Granbury offers a way to cool off on those hot Texas afternoons, and there's even a family-friendly boardwalk." -USA Today 10 BEST TRAVEL The FIRST TOWN SQUARE In Texas To Be Listed On The National Register Of Historic Places And Has Become A Prototype For Restoration Projects All Over America. Still a fun place to visit and eat. You'll find all types of shops and eateries. I've shopped here many times and we eat at numerous locations either on or near the square throughout the year. (I live in Granbury).

I live only a few miles from the town square and it is a lovely nice to go. Several very, very good restaurants. The Granbury Opera is entertaining, many good shows, we usually go several times a year, not expensive, some local talent. Many cute little shops, worth a visit.

Beautiful courthouse square with lots of shopping & tasty restaurants to try. Opera house is a great place to check out & the wagon yard as well. Lots of history to check out also.

Wife and I visited for a weekend getaway from DFW (our second time in 4 years) and stayed on the square at the Nutt House. Loads of fun, great place to slow down and get away. Very historical - historical markers on every building - most built in the late 1800's. Definitely recommend browsing the shops, visiting with the owners,... More

Overall a VERY BAD experience! It started when we pulled up... the cabins are only approximately 100 feet from a major road (Glen Rose Hwy)... incredibly noisy, and right by the traffic. The cabins are poorly maintained, very outdated, and the installations run down. The trail behind the cabins was a joke (1/8 mile long at best) filled with old... More

We attended the Granbury Wine Walk with friends and really enjoyed this event. This local fund raiser benefits Granbury charities. They brings in wineries and food vendors from all across Texas. Everyone was so friendly and such a great opportunity to taste wines that are outside of our local area. Cute downtown!

Granbury has a beautiful town square but there was a lot of construction in the square this weekend, which made parking and walking around easily, challenging.
