The Grapevine Vintage Railroad travels along the historic Cotton Belt Route between Grapevine and the Fort Worth Stockyards. The Railroad is serviced by two vintage locomotives which include "Puffy" the 1896 Steam locomotive and oldest continously operating steam engine in the South, and a 1953 GP-7 diesel locomotive. Passengers enjoy riding in authentic 1920s and 1930s Victorian - style coaches as they take a step back in time and experience train travel as it was in the glory days of the expanding West. Pull into the Fort Worth Stockyards Station and you'll be right in the middle of the Stockyards National Historic District where the Old West comes alive. Have fun at this outstanding retail and entertainment district.

The train ride was nice, but not very exciting. The view is of backyards and commercial areas. The only snacks you can buy are popcorn, hot dogs and soft drinks. It's a rather boring 90 minute trip. We wouldn't do it again.

My family was very excited about riding the North Pole Express and we bought our tickets months in advance. We got there almost 2 hours early and got straight in line as we were told that the front car of the train was the most...More

yes it's slow, yes it's not the most spectacular scenery but just sit back relax and enjoy the day. We paid for First Class and bought our Grandson (age 6) the "Conductors package" which included a top quality cap, neck scarf and train whistle. The...More

The idea is great, employees are super friendly and the vintage train cars are cool. That’s where the positives end, though. The train stops inexplicably every couple of miles and you just sit there. We were 45 minutes late getting to the stock yards and...More

3 words! Don't do it. This train ride was very boring! It was very slow and by the time you get to Fort Worth it's time to get back on. Plenty of other things to do in Grapevine. Do any of that instead!!

We were looking forward to a nice little ride on a vintage train to the stockyards and had planned it weeks in advance. The trip wasn't bad, necessarily, but it was long and boring. The scenery out the window was straight through town after town....More

Disappointing ride from the stockyards. The train route was disappointing. We boarded at the stockyards and went along a route that was full of construction areas. The air conditionered car was the highlight as it gave us relief from the extreme Texas heat. The train...More
