If you wander around downtown houston during the weekdays you may wonder how come there is little pedestrian traffic. Well the reason is that somebody realized that putting an underground tunnel system to connect up major companies is a better idea. If you don't have...More

Cool to explore. Just look for the "tunnels entry" on the doors into businesses around downtown Houston. Very easy to locate once you are looking but keep a good map as it is easy to get loss. Lots of different food options down there and...More

If you are ever in downtown Houston during the business day, the tunnels are a great place to get breakfast and/or lunch.

Cool place for shops and food. Pretty big, we walked quite a bit. Cool tourist thing to do. Especially for shopping.

I used to work downtown and in the summertime only came up to catch my bus home. There's actually another city located underground in the tunnel system but you never feel like you're really in a basement area.

To see it all is a long walk, not for persons with canes or walkers. Several places to eat down there.

I went on a city tour of Houston and barely saw any people. The tour guide mentioned that a lot of people were in the tunnels. The tunnel system intrigued me because I didn't see any entrances into tunnels or people congregating like you see...More

Michael took us around to some of the main buildings in Houston, telling about the history of the city, the buildings and the tunnels. Finally, I understand why visitors and tourists find the city center deserted, even "dying". Most office workers use the tunnel to...More

Hint: When using the entrance to the tunnels at the Wells Fargo Plaza, take the far left bank of elevators to the 'tunnel level'. The tunnels were well lit and very clean. We left safe the entire time. There were many restaurants that smelled and...More

A fantastic way to explore the many blocks of connected buildings in downtown Houston. Tunnels are not always underground! discover the food courts and eat with the "locals" - but not on the weekend.
