I live in the northwest quadrant of the city so it is an all day affair to visit the museum. Myself and friends usually come once or twice a year to view the traveling exhibits. It's always an enjoyable outing. We wish we lived closer and could visit more often. It would be great to take in more than the... More

Houston MFA is a solid museum with plenty to see. There are no standout pieces you learned in an art history class, but they seem to have a good sampling of masters and genres. The underground tunnel is cool. Check it out on the first weekend of the month when entry is free for Bank of America customers.

Very modern museum. Parking on site for $6. Degas exhibit tremendous. Paintings, sketches and sculptures on loan from collections worldwide. Museum cafe has surprisingly good food and reasonable. Also a Metro stop at Museum.

Although the exhibit hall is gloomy (could use a facelift after all these years, additional lighting would help), the Degas exhibit was exceptional! An enormous collection from collections, galleries and museums around the world. We were blown away by the diversity of his work. The presentation roughly by "period" during his life was well composed. The audio phones are add... More

Very well distributed and not too crowded, prices are reasonable (I got student discount so I paid $18, but there are cheaper tickets at Costco) I loved the Degas exhibit.

I have been to this museum a couple times, this time for a specific Dega exhibition. The museum is large with a wide variety of exhibits and art.

Amazing collection of Degas works of all media, including small sculptures. Oils, pastels, charcoal, early photographic prints, bronze sculptures comprise the collection. Amazing.
