As a native Houstonian, it is great to see the city make such amazing improvements to the zoo in recent years. I'm now a grandmother, and I delight in taking my grands to see all the wonderful animal exhibits. Feeding the giraffes is a pricey extra, but the joy on little faces is worth every penny + it's really about... More

This zoo is well laid out and customer friendly. The park surrounding it is well maintained and offers activities for all ages. The museums and art centers are close by.

We probably go to the zoo once a month. The animals always look very healthy and awake when we visit. They always have special events at different times of the year. The Zoo Boo and the Zoo Lights are our favorites.

We went on a rainy day, so a lot of the animals were hiding indoors, which was understandable. The zoo would be a lot better if they made an effort to improve the drainage for the walk ways as some areas were impassable, meaning you had to find another, much longer way to get to the desired area. There were,... More

Went during Zoo Lights. I wish we had gone earlier in the day so the animals were more active but still a fun trip.

Very well laid out and plenty to see and do here. The animals all looked healthy and happy. There is plenty of shade and really liked the setup of this zoo. The only thing that annoyed me was having so many school groups running around. They were very loud and obnoxious, but that's school groups for you. Try to visit... More

I'm a native Houstonian and I would say anytime is a good time to go to the zoo ( even if you can stand the heat in the summer). There are lots of air conditioned facilities and it's always clean. There are many animals to see and the maps are very easy to read. Great for kids and family. Tons... More

We very impressed with the Houston zoo visit. The animals all looked very healthy and well taken care of. It was fun to feed the giraffes for a fee of $7. They allow you to bring coolers in for drinks and picnic food. I totally encourage this as the sodas are about $3 for 16 oz. Parking is a real... More
